Starfish
Once upon a time, at a particular beach, millions and billions of starfishes was washed to shore for this story to be told.
Pichu was walking along this beach when he saw Pikachu picking up a starfish and throwing it back into the sea.
Pichu was puzzled and he asked "Why are you throwing the starfishes back to the sea?"
"Im saving them. They cant live out of the ocean." replied Pikachu.
"But there are so many of them. Look!" Pichu pointed out to Pikachu.
Pikachu used his tail and tail whipped another starfish followed by using iron tail to toss the starfish back into the sea.
"At least i saved that one"

This story may be almost cliche, but its still one of the more meaningful stories i've heard. People often think they are too small for things. They feel that they cant cause changes. Its not everyone that can change the world, but you can change the things you want to change. People think they cant do certain things (Eg. Dunking). It is when this thought is formulated that your hopes and dreams are dashed.
Im happy, cause i caused a change to happen. My friend is finally willing to learn driving. Went with him to book his basic theory today. I also overheard that he was quitting smoking. Trying to. Im sure he'd have done all these sooner or later, but i probably made it sooner with the persistent bugging and pestering.
Im now trying to help my didi. Its a different life route im trying to lead him to. I can only try to lead, but i can't force him to it. It is his choice after all. Hopefully i succeed.
I may be small and not have much power, but im sure simple words - of encouragement, care, concern - and simple actions - consistent pointing out, spending time, giving love - can change lives.
Do not ask a businessman for a job, ask how to be a boss.
Do not ask a fisherman for a fish, ask him how to fish.
Do not wait for a change, cause a change.
Do not think the sky is the limit, for you'll only reach the sky.
Think no limit, and there won't be one.

Butterfly Effect
If you're wondering what the title of this post is, its part of chaos theory.
It has been said that something as small as the flutter of a butterfly's wing can ultimately cause a typhoon halfway around the world.

I was thinking, if you saved your friend from a bear, you'd be a hero. What about the bear? You may have killed the bear and its family. That is indirect killing. It just makes me feel there isnt any action that is totally perfectly right. It saddens me ):
If you still can't feel it, im emo when im writing this post. Well, Andy asked me about 2 jobs that he was offered - Low prospect but loads of free time or higher prospect but much less free time. Its a trade off between time and prospect. Logically, i'd tell him to go for the later since he doesnt have much other commitments either. It'll be the best choice in the long term.
BUT
I couldnt say that with ease. My emotions starts stirring up. Andy is like the guardian of AMK 548 basketball court. You can say he is somewhat the pillar of it. He has a bunch of loyal followers (me included) who'd come down and play regularly because of him and everyone else. He is the corner stone, center piece, the key.
If he resign as guardian, less people would play ball, maybe none. It hurts, cause im having such a good time with the peeps.
I start to think, is my fire for basketball or for friends. I'd say its fire for basketball that brought me down initially, but now? I'd still play alone, but it'll be different. It wouldnt be the same. It isnt the same.
Well, i guess im selfish. I cant let go. Its always like that. I know that people come and people go, but why cant people stay? I want to stay for everyone but what is the point when people keep going? You cant go with them cause we'll all go in a different direction. I just cant let go. We should be contented that at least our lives cross path. I'd rather we move off together.
Human interaction is tough. I cant understand myself.

There Are 3 Types Of Unemployment..

Singapore's job market is so super saturated with job seekers that human crystals crystallize out after some time. Its just too many seeker, too little job. This isn't even one of the unemployment i learnt. Grr.. I NEED $$ ):

Okay, so i went to watch AMK vs FTPSS basketball match on Monday. Of course I'm a supporter of AMK cause Jovan is in the team! End result, AMK won by about 34 points. Cant remember the final score but AMK won. Well, honestly i was rather upset because of some ball politics. I still can't understand why some dota pros go for kills but don't defend their throne. Isn't dota a team game? Isn't basketball a team game? There ain't room for yourself alone. GRRR~ I guess what i learnt from 12 years of school is the attitude and stress management. TEAM TEAM TEAM.
They keep saying that i don't understand and when my ball skills improve I'll be like that. If that's the case I'd rather not improve. I wont. I PROMISE. I SWEAR.. to myself (:

So im back to mugging. Seriously why must the syllabus keep changing! Now i have to relearn everything to teach. But i guess the passion is still within me. I really enjoy teaching, especially when i made a difference. It feels really great like u changed the direction of one's life. I guess life is really unfair.

That is so gross! Im seeing 'O' Level kids who cant make it to the top few JCs because they dont take higher MT. And this isnt even about effort. Its about opportunity. Its pure retardedness. Seriously, someone needs to change this rubbish! The rich poor gap starts from schools. You either get stream up up up or down down down. Once you're down, you're doomed.

Vitamin C and Apples
Okay, so i havent be blogging for ages. Oh yea? FINE. ERAS.
See, i knew it. i cant sustain this. I lack lack lack commitment. LACK, grr..
As usual, im going to talk about alot of things. Here goes!
Surfing
Ok, I went to wave house or something at sentosa. Its new, and now i can surf! Or at least stand on the surf board. Its kinda dumb cause that place is seriously expensive. $30 / hr, and the session can have at max 10 people taking turn, one at a time, to surf (or try standing on the board). Well, if you're mathematically inclined, u'd know that at max group (10), you'll only have 6 minutes surfing time on average, and thats for 30 bucks. Expensive. Good one off experience though (:
Jovan
So yea, Jovan was running a fever since last wednesday. The fever lasted about 5 days and the doctor suspects that he has dengue! Grrr! Dengue is like the Bankai of the girl captain in bleach, first time u get the butterfly tatoo on you, 2nd time u DIE. So yup, last chance (:
Andy says im like a nanny to him! Grr! im just concern so i ask about him. Oh well, Jovan is like my didi now so (:
He will be playing a match tmr. Hopes he does well, with his "father" and "brother" watching. STRESS~

Initially it was good. I thought i was improving, and i am. I can shoot better. Heh, thats about all. But seriously, im still putting the team down!! ARGH~
I finally start to see, your basics can be imba good, but if u lack experience u will sux. And my basic sux, so with no experience im imba sux. IMBA!
I've been cheong matches now, trying to gain more experience. I may be burning in passion and spirit, but my body can't sustain me! Guess i'll have to sux a little more den. Sorry AMK BBall peeps. You wont see this but IM SORRY )=
Okay. I sorta summarize my stuff. Im gonna go sleep cause the lights are out. TRAIN TRAIN TRAIN.

Now is 30 minutes before the prize presentation. I've gotten myself an Edusave Merit Bursary from the govt for being 'hardworking', being top 25% of my school, and being poor (<4k/mth). Well, what really shocked me was that my results were really crappy YET i still got something!
Prelims:
Mathematics - B
Physics - C
Chemistry - E
Economics - U
GP - S
B, C, E, U, S! Beat that! And im top 25%. It really doesnt show how smart i am. It just shows how badly the rest are doing.
Ah well, for those who are not in my school and are not eligible, i guess your school mates are just too godlike. I pity the 75% of Hwa Chong and Raffles, 3 A's but not even eligible!

I went to popular this morning to grab some fabric markers. Yep, im going to draw on some shirts. Its going to be Clarence's birthday present(his birthday is tomorrow!). Well, i don't think he'll read this before his party so i guess the surprise factor is still there! Lets all pray hard that i don't screw up too badly. Im not Loo Ting or Avelyn but i'll try my best!

Good Food, New Friends, Great Teachings, Exciting Fellowship
Hey again, sorry i skipped posting yesterday cause i was lazy. Yea, im not gonna find excuses. I WAS LAZY. TOO BAD(: But...
Since many things happened recently, im going to have another 2 episode special blog post!
Good Food
So yesterday, i went to Amara Hotel at Tanjong Pagar for dinner(just 3 minute walk from mrt). It was my birthday treat from Aunty Joline. Well, i must say the spread there is fantastic and so i filled myself with Smoked/Grilled/Raw salmon, a huge portion of Cod Fish, Oysters, Clams, Mussels and Beef!
I really wouldnt say the food there is enough for gold light to shine out of your mouth and a huge dragon flying out of it and you see images of you running along the beach with a hot babe but the spread IS good. It cost about $50/pax so it is a little expensive, but if you're feeling rich and posh, here is the place.
In the end, Aunty Alicia paid for the meal(Thanks!), so i was given $100 cash from Aunty Joline as birthday present!
Also, i borrowed 2 books from my aunt.
1. "Rich dad, poor dad"
2. "Who moved my cheese?"
Im reading the first book now and i must say it is good. Hopefully i can finish it soon!
New Friends
Today, i went to meet Yuqi for lunch with Tim. We went to Holland V for Katong Laksa and it was really awesome food. We played ball in school after that. When we were about to leave, it rained heavily but the sun was also brightly shining, and the result:

Yep, a rainbow was seen across the field-used-to-be in school! It is my first time seeing a rainbow upclose, but too bad i couldnt find the pot of gold):
Later in the evening, i went to ZH's place to play ball(again!). I was early and met Alan and Jovan *NEW FRIENDS* They aren't exactly new, but i somehow had dinner with them so yup, we better friends now i guess.
Great Teachings
After a tiresome day of basketball, Alan and Jovan decided to teach me basketball! To think i've been playing basketball wrongly for 4 months! NONSENSE~
After hearing what they said, i feel pro. FEEL ONLY, not pro yet. Maybe i won't be pro..
Well, they did well teaching. I understood most parts of it, though i can't exactly do what they are saying. I guess i need to unlearn my basketball first to learn basketball, and APPARENTLY, unlearning is difficult!
Im going to drill the moves into me tomorrow. TRAINING~
Exciting Fellowship
Well, with the dinner and new teachings, i think my relationship with Alan and Jovan improved by at least a little! So i guess my ball skills are going to improve, better games at AMK, more friends! Yay!!

My Birthday Cont'd
Okay. So today is my birthday. Let me recount what happened...
Firstly, we went to popeye for lunch! It wasn't as nice as i wanted it to be despite being hungry.. I guess kfc is better and more worth.
Next, we made our way to ZH's place for ball! We played a whooping 7 hours of basketball from 3 - 10! ADDICT. YES I AM (:
Following the ball, we had this mini birthday celebration thing which - why am i not surprised - turned into a huge cake smashing session!
All those who had cake on them, you're gonna get good luck for the rest of this year (:

Firstly, we went to popeye for lunch! It wasn't as nice as i wanted it to be despite being hungry.. I guess kfc is better and more worth.
Next, we made our way to ZH's place for ball! We played a whooping 7 hours of basketball from 3 - 10! ADDICT. YES I AM (:
Following the ball, we had this mini birthday celebration thing which - why am i not surprised - turned into a huge cake smashing session!
All those who had cake on them, you're gonna get good luck for the rest of this year (:

Christmas + New Year + Birthday (:
I know i haven't posted for a long time now.. sorry.
Actually who cares? No one reads this shit anyway. But for those who actually follows this, heres a little treat for you. Im gonna blog a 3-event special post! Whoo~
Christmas
Okay, christmas was normal. Can't really remember what i did. I probably played basketball with my pals. What a life! I think i did that for New Year Eve and Day too! I think im addicted. Actually i am addicted.
New Year Eve
After checking my handbook (yes, i am organized), i remember what i did on New Year Eve! First up, we went to celebrate Kris's birthday. Yup, you're right, its Dec 31st. We did a surprise visit to her house, bought like a mango cake and sang 'Happy Birthday' at her door until she came out! A little blooper, while we were singing, the door was closed. We saw a skateboard outside the house and i believe its not just me that thought "omg, its going to be so embarassing if this is the wrong door!" Of course she was surprised and shocked and happy and touched. Of course, because she is Kris afterall. Happy Birthday again Kris(:
I lost my Saboteur virginity at her place too! A good game i must say.
Following that, i went with Clarence to the arcade! Well, i can't remember what happened BUT I won 3 games of air hockey!
And surely, like all other people, i went for a New Year countdown.. apart from the fact that mine is a little special - it was at church! Christmas countdown in church featured this lady who wrote a little booklet and she was explaining it. What i learnt from the service: God wants your heart, not your mind. Your prideful mind stops your heart from seeking and accepting God.
Midway through the service, we had this super sudden countdown (cause we were running out of time). 10... 9... 8.. .... ... 3... 2... 1...

There goes 2009 and here comes 2010!
After the nightwatch service at church and the slacking around, it was too late to go home so I went to Bryan's place with my church peeps - about 15 others.
The post is getting long so im going to summarize this
At bryan's place > play saboteur > play band heros > Buy food > cook > eat > saboteur again > left with Danny in the morning > HTHT with Danny (more like i talk only!) > Ball with Zhen Hao > Sleep.
Birthday
Okay, So now is my Birthday! Yea, 5th Jan. NOW. I dont really know what'll happen later but the plan for now is that we'll meet at AMK for popeye lunch, followed by basketball(again!) till lights out. This whole day will be joined by about 10 other friends, so yea! Exciting.
